Aluminum Door Frame and Door Stop Profiles

Aluminum door frame profiles for hinged doors, fire doors, and commercial entrance systems.

Product Overview

A door frame is one of those building components that nobody thinks about until it fails. When the door doesn't close properly, when the weatherstrip doesn't seal, when the frame has shifted out of square — that's when people notice the frame. A well-designed aluminum door frame should be invisible in use: the door closes smoothly, seals completely, and stays that way for decades.

Aluminum door frames have largely replaced timber frames in commercial construction across Southeast Asia. The reasons are practical: aluminum doesn't swell in humidity, doesn't warp in heat, and doesn't rot in the wet-dry cycles of the tropical climate. A timber door frame in a coastal building may need replacement within 10 years; an aluminum frame, properly installed, will outlast the building.

Our door frame profiles are designed for both hinged and sliding door applications. The hinged door frame includes a door stop rebate that positions the door leaf correctly and provides a surface for the weatherstrip to seal against. The frame depth is designed to accommodate standard wall thicknesses (100mm, 150mm, 200mm), with the profile wrapping around the wall edge to create a clean, finished appearance on both faces.

For commercial entrance systems — the heavy-duty glass doors used in office buildings, hotels, and retail stores — we supply structural door frame profiles in 6061-T6 alloy. These profiles are designed to carry the weight of large glass door panels (up to 200 kg) and resist the repeated impact loads of high-traffic entrances. The hinge pockets are reinforced to prevent deformation under load, and the threshold profile includes an accessible ramp profile for compliance with disability access requirements.

System Interfaces, Fabrication and Delivery Controls

Architectural profiles must be bought as an interacting system. Frame, sash, glazing bead, gaskets, hardware, drainage and finish need to be checked together rather than ordered as isolated section shapes.
