Product Overview
Aluminum extrusion gives you the cross-section you need. CNC machining gives you the features you need. Together, they produce finished components that are both structurally efficient and precisely dimensioned — at a fraction of the cost of machining from solid billet.
The combination of extrusion and CNC machining is particularly powerful for components that have a complex cross-section (better made by extrusion) but also require machined features — holes, slots, pockets, threads — that can't be extruded. A motor housing, for example, might have a complex fin pattern on the outside (extruded) and a precisely bored bore on the inside (CNC machined). A linear guide rail might have a T-slot profile (extruded) and precisely drilled and tapped mounting holes at specified positions (CNC machined).
Our CNC machining capability includes 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers, with a maximum work envelope of 2,000mm × 500mm × 400mm. We achieve tolerances of ±0.05mm on critical dimensions, and ±0.02mm on precision features with careful setup and inspection. All machined parts are inspected with a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) before shipment, and we provide a dimensional inspection report with the first article.
We work from customer-supplied drawings in DXF, DWG, STEP, or IGES format. Our engineering team reviews the drawing for machinability and provides feedback on any features that would be difficult or expensive to machine — often suggesting minor design changes that significantly reduce cost without affecting function. This free design review is part of our standard service for all CNC machining orders.
Minimum order quantity for CNC machined parts is typically 50 pieces for simple parts and 20 pieces for complex parts. For prototype quantities (1–10 pieces), we can provide a quotation but the unit cost will be significantly higher due to setup time. For high-volume production (above 1,000 pieces), we can optimize the machining program and fixture design to reduce cycle time and unit cost.
