6060 T-Slot Aluminum Extrusion Profile
60×60mm square T-slot profile — the mid-range choice between 4040 and 8080.
Product Overview
There's a gap in the T-slot profile lineup that engineers often struggle with: the 4040 is too light for their application, but the 8080 feels like overkill. The structure they're building — maybe a safety enclosure for a medium-sized robot, or a frame for an automated guided vehicle — sits right in the middle. That's where the 6060 profile comes in.
At 60×60mm with a 10mm slot width, the 6060 offers a moment of inertia of 22.6 cm⁴ — about 5.5 times stiffer than the 4040, but at only twice the weight per meter. For structures with spans in the 1,500–2,500mm range and moderate loads, this is often the most cost-effective choice. You get adequate stiffness without the weight penalty of the 8080.
The 10mm slot width is a meaningful upgrade from the 8mm slots on the 4040/4080. It allows M8 T-bolts as standard, which provide 60% more pull-out force than M6 bolts. For connections that carry real loads — such as the joints between vertical columns and horizontal beams in a robot safety enclosure — this extra margin matters.
We supply the 6060 in both standard (2.0mm wall) and heavy (3.0mm wall) variants. The heavy variant is specified for applications where the profile also serves as a structural column under compressive load, such as the legs of a large workstation or the uprights of an industrial shelving system. The thicker wall provides significantly higher column buckling resistance.
In terms of accessories, the 6060 uses the same M8 T-bolt and drop-in nut system as the 8080, so if you're mixing profile sizes in a single frame, you only need one fastener type for the larger profiles. Corner brackets for the 6060 are available in both aluminum die-cast and zinc die-cast versions — the zinc version provides higher strength for structural connections.

Compatibility, Assembly and Order Controls
For modular framing, a nominal outer size is not enough to establish compatibility. Confirm the supplied section drawing, slot geometry, core-hole arrangement, connector family and cut/machining references before a mixed-series order is released.
